CNN has banned MAGA pundit Ryan Girdusky from future appearances after an offensive remark toward journalist Mehdi Hasan. During a panel on October 28,

Girdusky told Hasan, “I hope your beeper doesn’t go off,” following Hasan’s expression of support for Palestine.

The comment referenced a recent Israeli operation involving explosives in pagers used by Hezbollah fighters. Hasan responded by accusing Girdusky of inciting violence against him. Girdusky later apologized,

claiming he had misheard Hasan, thinking he mentioned “Hamas.” Footage of the incident quickly spread on social media

CNN released a statement emphasizing its zero-tolerance policy for racism and bigotry after banning Ryan Girdusky for his offensive comment toward Mehdi Hasan.

Host Abby Phillip shared the statement on X, explaining that Girdusky was asked to leave the show following the incident. Hasan was invited to return but chose not to continue. Phillip apologized to Hasan and viewers,

stressing the importance of civil debate, especially during heightened political times. She reiterated that uncivil discourse would not be tolerated on the program.

Girdusky responded to the backlash on X, describing his remark as a "joke" and criticizing CNN's stance. He claimed,

“You can stay on CNN if you falsely call every Republican a Nazi and take money from Qatar-funded media,” adding, “Apparently you can't go on CNN if you make a joke.” Mehdi Hasan has not issued his own statement but shared Phillip’s post along with CNN’s response.
